DALLAS–Get excited, “The Portrait’s Secret” fans: the big-screen adaptation of the script “El Secreto del Retrato”, started filming here and Fort Worth, Texas, Monday, Dec. 23, 2013.
Writer, producer and director Dr. Janet Alvarez Gonzalez on the upcoming movie, promise The Portrait’s Secret (El Secreto del Retrato) has fans from all over the world including the Governor of Texas Rick Perry, who gave the director, former U.S. Army Major Janet Alvarez Gonzalez, Texas State Guard, two years ago a medal for her outstanding service in the Texas Military Forces.
The psychological drama “The Portrait’s Secret”, El Secreto del Retrato is described as a multi-story tale that denounces various violations of human rights, such as child abuse, political and economic exploitation, and corruption in all the Americas.
“I believe that a good story well told can truly make a difference in how one sees the world, especially if we include in our film talents with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious beliefs and from the wide political spectrum, all are representative of our world” said Dr. Alvarez Gonzalez, writer of the film.
The Portrait’s Secret includes the participation of 49 actors from 19 countries from America and Europe including: Ivelin Giro from Cuba, Damian Alcazar and Maria Rojo from Mexico, Ana Obregon from Spain, Hemky Madera from the Dominican Republic, Carolyn Zeller, Denise Quiñonez, Amber Rivera, from Puerto Rico, Federico Luppi from Argentina, Eduardo Paxeco from Chile, Carlos Carrasco from Panama, Bobby Leonard from Cuba, Roberto Urbina from Colombia, and Kurt Romero from Texas and many others.
“I am currently attaching several academy award winning actors from the United States to this project and very soon they will be announced,” said Dr. Janet Alvarez Gonzalez.
“The Portrait’s Secret”, El Secreto del Retrato has also attached academy award Ricardo Jaques Gale as cinematographer and multi GOYA award winning editor, Pablo Blanco. In addition, the production has attached the Italian art director and production designer Tamara Morini, who was the art director of The American with George Clooney, directed by Anton Corbijn; Duplicity with Julia Roberts, directed by Tony Gilroy; The Merchant of Venice with Al Pacino, directed by Michael Radford and “The Hills Have Eyes” directed by Alex Aja. From Seville, Spain, includes the international classical music composer Rafael Fernandez Viedma that will be directing more than 100 musicians from all over the world.
From Texas the production has attached acting coach, producer and director Stephen Bridgewater who will be producing the film with Gonzalez. Both are attached to the film “Nadia’s Promise”. Bridgewater is the acting coach of Tom Hanks and Benicio del Toro.

The “The Portrait’s Secret” movie is scheduled to hit theaters on Feb. 13, 2015 after the film’s initial start date was delayed.
