Texan filmmaker Dr. Janet Alvarez Gonzalez already has gone in an unorthodox direction to get her film “The Portrait’s Secret”, made. Initially the film was going to be in Spanish language, and was going to be film in the Caribbean and South America, but many unpredictable challenges made the executive producer change her mind and made radical changes to the production “The Portrait’s Secret”.
She recently changed her plans, moving the production from the State of Georgia to Texas, only few scenes will be film in the Caribbean. According to Dr. Alvarez Gonzalez filming in American soil gives any investor the ability to deduct 100% of the money they invest in that same year for production costs up to $15 million dollars and possibly as much as $20 million dollars.
The good news is that as part of the last minute “Fiscal Cliff” deal, Section 181 has been renewed for 2013, which means that investors have a federal incentive to put money into a project, in addition to the various state rebates incentives on qualified direct production expenditures. Therefore I will like to produce “The Portrait’s Secret” this year, Dr. Alvarez Gonzalez explained enthusiastic.
Without being filmed, “The Portrait’s Secret” has been reviewed in New York, Miami, Dallas, Spain, Chile, Argentina, Turkey, China, Panama, Venezuela, Mexico, and Japan. Alvarez Gonzalez is planning to include several Academy Awarded winning actors from Hollywood; she is also including some of the production team from the film “The Portrait’s Secret” into “An Anonymous Prisoner in Egypt”.
According to Alba Vanderbilt the distribution is in place for all media in America: from Canada to Argentina with Distrimax and Gussy Films. Distrimax is a well-known, reputable film distributor, working with major international distribution companies such as Lions Gate.
Some actors are already attached such as the award winning actors Louis Gossett Jr. and Damian Alcazar . The Portrait’s Secret also has the special participation of Eduardo Paxeco, Hemky Maderas, Carlos Carrasco, Denise Blasor, Roberto Urbina and other international actors from 19 different countries.
Tamara Marini will be in charge of the production design of The Portrait’s Secret. Her work includes working as art director of the film “The American” with George Clooney directed by Anton Corbijn; “Duplicity” with Julia Roberts, directed by Tony Gilroy, “The Merchant of Venice” with Al Pacino, directed by Michael Radford and “The Hills Have Eyes” directed by Alex Aja. The Cinematography is in charge of Hollywood’s director Ricardo Jacks Gale. The winner of three Goya Academy award, Pablo Blanco will be the editor of “The Portrait’s Secret”.
